RECYCLING & TRASH PICKUP
Beginning December 2019, the unincorporated areas of Shields Township entered into a waste-hauler agreement with Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) to provide residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickup. Currently, unincorporated refuse pickup is on Wednesdays (subject to change).

The LRS website accepts payments from Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx and e-check. Simple sign-up takes just a few minutes -- just have your Account Number and Last Invoice Number handy.

LRS SERVICES
LRS, a locally-owned waste and recycling hauler which was already contracted to several nearby communities, was selected through an aggressive and deliberate bidding process. We appreciate all of the input provided by township residents since we first began serious considerations for more efficient and economical consolidated refuse programs in 2018. After multiple community meetings and feedback, RFPs went out in spring of 2019, went to vote, and a 5-year agreement was approved to begin that December.

BRUSH PICKUP
Brush pickup is provided by the township for branches that fall into the street or right-of-way during a storm from trees located within the right-of-way. Contact us to report storm debris in the street or right-of-way.
Residential brush pickup is included in the LRS garbage contract for Knollwood and Arden Shores North and South. Yard waste must be in paper yard waste bags and branches must be bundled in 4ft length sections. Yard waste stickers are available for sale at the Supervisor's office for $3.00 each.
