PACE DIAL-A-RIDE
For Seniors and People With Disabilities
The township has partnered with Pace to provide Dial-a-Ride service for seniors (age 60+) and disabled persons age 16+ who reside in Shields Township. Registration with the township is required. Once registered, the person may call Pace 24 hours in advance to reserve a curb-to-curb ride to anywhere within Shields and to a number of other locations outside Shields Township. Hours of service are 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. View/download the brochure below for more information. RTA REDUCED-FARE PERMITS
For Seniors and People With Disabilities
If you are 65 years or older and not enrolled in the Illinois Department on Aging's Benefit Access program, you are eligible for a reduced-fare RTA permit. Apply now at the Shields Township office! All you need to bring is your driver's license/state ID and a wallet-size photo. If your card is expired (or expiring soon), you WILL need to reapply. You are welcome to come in person or visit Fares.RTAChicago.org to renew your application. |
