Public Hearing Minutes of July 20, 2023

THE TOWN BOARD OF SHIELDS TOWNSHIP held its Public Hearing on the Shields Township FY 2024 Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance on July 20, 2023, at 6:00 pm.
 
I. Call to Order & Roll Call: Supervisor Urso called the hearing to order at 6:00 pm. Clerk Grum called the roll; Present: Clerk Grum, Trustees Weil and Machnicki, and Supervisor Urso; Absent: Trustees Garrity and Andersen. Also in attendance was Administrator Carl Kitzerow, Deputy Clerk Lisette Rothing, Attorney Mark Kimzey, and Accountant Katherine Andrus of GAPS, LLC.
 
II. Pledge of Allegiance: Supervisor Urso opened the hearing with the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
III. Public Comment: None.
 
IV. Hearing Regarding the Shields Township Tentative Budget & Appropriation Ordinance for the Fiscal Year Beginning March 1, 2023 and Ending February 29, 2024:
 
a. Explanation of the Ordinance: Supervisor Urso offered background information regarding the Municipal Budget Law requiring that the Shields Township Board adopts an Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for each Fiscal Year. Supervisor Urso noted that the FY 2024 Budget Ordinance was prepared in tentative format and made available for public inspection on Monday June 12, 2023. Supervisor Urso advised that the Board will take final action on the FY2024 Budget Ordinance at the Regular Township Board Meeting later this evening.
 
b. Comments and Questions from the Board regarding the Ordinance: None.
 
C. Comments and Questions from the Public regarding the Ordinance: None.
 
V. Adjournment: Trustee Weil moved to adjourn the hearing. Trustee Machnicki seconded the motion. Motioned carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:08 pm.
